Hyaluronic acid is a molecule your skin already makes. What is injected is the same molecule, cross-linked so it lasts months instead of days — and so that, if needed, it can be dissolved.
Its biggest advantage: it can be undone
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. Injected into the area, it dissolves the filler within hours. That has two consequences no other product offers:
- If you dislike the result, it comes out. No waiting months, no living with something you did not want.
- If a vascular occlusion happens, there is an antidote. This is the medical reason, and the important one. It is what makes hyaluronic acid the product of choice for high-risk areas and for anyone being treated for the first time.
A question worth asking before you sit down: do you have hyaluronidase here, today? It is not an aggressive question and the answer tells you a lot.
Density: why not every gel suits every area
Gels differ in how cross-linked they are and in particle size. That determines firmness, and firmness decides where they can go:
- Dense gels. They hold weight and give projection. They go in the deep plane, on bone: cheekbone, chin, jaw angle.
- Medium gels. For folds and lip border, in the deep dermis.
- Soft, fluid gels. For the lip, tear trough and fine lines, where the skin is thin and a firm product would show.
Placing a dense gel in a superficial area produces the effect people recognise without being able to name it: a palpable lump, or the Tyndall effect — the bluish tint that appears when a gel sits too close to the surface. It is corrected with hyaluronidase, but better not to get there.
How long it lasts in each area
| Area | Usual duration | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Lips | 6 – 9 months | The most mobile area of the face |
| Nasolabial folds | 9 – 12 months | Constant movement when you speak |
| Tear trough | 9 – 12 months | Fluid product, small volume |
| Chin and jawline | 12 – 18 months | Dense gel on bone, little movement |
| Cheeks | 12 – 18 months | Deep plane, very stable |
Three things measurably shorten it: a fast metabolism, frequent intense exercise and unprotected sun exposure. One lengthens it: repeating before it has fully resorbed, because you start from a base.
What it costs
Filler is not quoted by «area» but by product and volume, and for a reason worth understanding before you compare: two people with the same complaint can need 1 ml and 4 ml. A closed per-area price that does not say how many millilitres it includes cannot be compared with anything — the same problem as botox units.
How it works here:
- The consultation is free and is not charged in advance. You are assessed, told which product, how much volume and the total, and you decide then.
- The quote is given in writing with the brand, the batch number and the millilitres before anything is applied. That document is what makes comparison possible.
- You pay for what is applied. If your case needs less volume than expected, you pay less.
Payment: cash, debit card and credit card, with the option to split into instalments at the terminal under your own bank plan.
