If you live in or are staying in El Poblado you have probably noticed that quotes for the same treatment vary by a factor of four across a few blocks. Here is what actually drives that, and what our own price is.
Why the range in El Poblado is so wide
El Poblado concentrates the highest density of aesthetic medicine in the city, and also the top of the price range. Quotes for one zone run from roughly $250,000 to $1,200,000 COP within the same district.
Two honest drivers of the high end, and one dishonest one:
- Rent. A consulting room in a medical tower on the Milla de Oro costs a multiple of one six blocks away. That is real overhead and it is in the price.
- Medical tourism pricing. Clinics that market primarily to visitors price in dollars mentally, against what the patient would pay at home rather than against local cost. That is a legitimate business decision and it is why some El Poblado quotes look like Miami quotes minus twenty percent.
- And the one that is not: the assumption that a higher number signals a better product. The Allergan vial costs the same everywhere in the city.
A practice being in a tower in El Poblado explains its rent, not the quality of what it injects into you. Those are two different things and it is worth not confusing them.

If you live here as an expat
El Poblado and Laureles hold most of Medellín's English-speaking residents, and the pattern we see is consistent: people either overpay at a clinic that markets in English, or underpay somewhere with no medical oversight because a neighbour recommended it.
The middle option is the one worth knowing about. Ask any practice, in whatever language, for these four things: the brand, its INVIMA registration, the unit count, and who is injecting. Any serious clinic in the district answers all four in thirty seconds.
Living here also removes the scheduling problem that visitors have: you are around at day 14, so the review and any top-up happen the way they should, and you can repeat on a proper schedule rather than whenever the next trip lands.
Getting here
The practice is in El Poblado. From most of the district it is a short taxi or a walk; from Laureles or Envigado, fifteen to twenty minutes outside peak hours. Since a botox session runs under twenty minutes with no downtime, the trip is rarely the deciding factor — people come from Envigado and Sabaneta routinely.
